Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups half and half
  • 3 tbsp. matcha green tea powder
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. kosher or sea salt

Instructions

  • Freeze ice cream bowl for 24 hours.
  • Whisk together half and half, sugar and salt in medium saucepan.
  • Start cooking over medium heat, then add green tea powder. Stir often allowing mixture to heat until it’s very hot but not boiling.
  • Remove from heat and transfer to the iced bowl. When it is cool, cover with plastic wrap and allow to chill in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
  • Once mixture is thoroughly chilled, transfer to a pre-chilled ice cream maker. Process according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Then transfer to an airtight container and place it in the freezer. Allow it so chill at least 3 hours before serving.
